Some car shows are about trophies. Others are about the memories.
This year’s Capon Springs Ruritan Car Show, hosted by the wonderful folks at Auto Advocates in Wardensville, was one of those special days. Chris Boyce and his family are incredible hosts, and their passion for preserving automotive history is evident in the amazing restoration work they do.
From the outstanding BBQ chicken and homemade ice cream to the live entertainment and the beautiful setting at Capon Springs, it was a perfect way to celebrate Independence Day and America’s 250th anniversary.
One of my favorite parts of the day wasn’t at the show itself—it was the drive there. I had the privilege of cruising Cam’s 1965 Mustang Fastback down River Road. Every curve, every hill, and every mile brought back memories of Cam and the countless conversations, laughs, and dreams we shared around that car. There are moments when grief and gratitude ride together, and this was one of them.
Thank you to the Capon Springs Ruritan Club, Chris Boyce and the entire Auto Advocates team for another outstanding event. Days like these remind us that the car community isn’t just about classic cars—it’s about family, friendships, and the memories that keep riding with us long after the engines are turned off.
